President & CEO

Jim Haynes directs the Center's staff of research and operations professionals and oversees strategic planning, marketing and workforce development efforts.

Jim is also a research study project manager whose clients include the El Paso Company, TransCanada Pipeline Company, Delta Dental, Farmerís Insurance, University of Phoenix, Arizona Highways Magazine, Bar-S Foods, Southwest Gas Company, Maricopa Community College District, Phoenix Art Museum, Cox Cable, Heard Museum, the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the Del E. Webb Corporation, and more.

Mr. Haynes also brings a great deal of experience as both a research provider and buyer as President of Western International University, a private business University in Phoenix, with branch campuses in London and at Ft. Huachuca, AZ.; Community Relations Director for Phoenix International Raceway; and President of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, the oldest and largest business advocacy organization in Arizona

Mr. Haynes served as Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives and is an official with the Indy Racing League. His collegiate degree is in journalism, with a minor in political science at California State at Los Angeles.

Research Director U.S.A.

Bruce Hernandez oversees U.S. research projects and is a specialist in study and sample design. While his principal areas of interest focuses on studies for government agencies he also has broad experience in the areas of research in behavioral health, transportation, recreation and facility development.

Mr. Hernandez holds a marketing degree from Arizona State University and completed advanced studies in Social/Economic Statistics and Quantitative Systems, Mr. Hernandez has for nearly 40 years played a key role in developing the Center's quantitative research arm.  The unique methodologies he has developed to solve difficult research problems have earned the Center a national reputation for accuracy and precision at all levels of study completion.  His expertise in sampling has been especially important in the successful completion of major multiphase longitudinal studies.

A principal in BRC since 1971, Mr. Hernandez is widely respected for his skill in study design, implementation and analysis, and is often called on to lecture on research methodologies and to serve as an expert witness in sensitive litigation cases, especially with regard to sampling theory and design. His client base is varied and impressive and includes both public and private sectors clients.

Bruce Hernandez has participated in: American Association For Public Opinion Research; Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Judicial Performance Review; Bureau of the Census Subcommittee of Population Characteristics; American Statistical Society; American Marketing Association; ASU Alumni Association, Valley Forward Urban Concept Committee and the Board of Directors of PBS station Channel 8.

Research Director International

Earl de Berge is founder and Chairman of the Board of the Center. and focuses the bulk of his attention on Latino consumer studies in the U.S. and Latin America.

Mr. de Berge enjoys a national reputation for innovative and insightful public opinion research and is a trusted advisor to business, government and non-profit institutions. He pioneered the development of regional, nonpartisan, public information polls with the creation of the award-winning Rocky Mountain Poll and the BusinessTRACKô and Latino TRACKô surveys of consumer and business markets.

Director of Research for BRC since 1965 Earl is also Editor of the respected Rocky Mountain Poll.  In the latter capacity, he has charted the changing public policy landscape and emerging commercial markets of the Rocky Mountain states and contributed greatly to the increased national attention given to western markets.  His articles and critical analysis of research techniques, methodologies, and significant findings have been published in journals of business, marketing, and public opinion research.

Mr. de Berge is a specialist in the design, administration, and analysis of market research programs.  His areas of special interest include business-to-business and consumer research in health care, public policy, corporate image, commercial development, and the travel and hospitality industries. In the past decade, he has also pioneered the Centerís Hispanic and Latin American study program.

Mr. de Berge holds degrees from Antioch University and the University of Arizona.   He has served on the boards of numerous civic and cultural associations, including the Phoenix Symphony, the National Board of ATLATL, the Phoenix Economic Growth Corporation, the Trustees Executive Committee of Verde Valley School, the Executive Committee of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, the Mayor's Economic Development Advisory Committee, and as Chairman of the Arizona State Board of Land Appeals and the Maricopa County Planning and Zoning Commission.  He is also Chairman of the Southern Maya Project for Archaeology and Community and a Board member of the Guatemala Based Semillas Para El Futuro. Mr. de Berge is also a member of the American Academy of Poets.

Director Operations & Quality Control

Mr. Kamer manages the Center's operations units, including both phone and field interviewing and data collection divisions. His responsibilities include the fulfillment of all data base development and data processing services for both internal and external customers. He is responsible for the Center's company-wide technology interface, including CATI systems, sampling services, statistical tabulations, interactive MACH III interactive response system and programming.

Prior to joining BRC, Mr. Kamer had 20 years experience in the United States Air Force, including 11 years managing the Services Information Management System (SIMS). During that time, he developed a strong foundation in problem-solving in a fast paced, constantly changing environment. He also served three years as a Customer Service Instructor and two years as a Quality Manager. His project experience includes spearheading and implementing the Internet and e-mail based survey development program at BRC.

Mr. Kamer's educational background includes the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, CA, as well as an Associates Degree in Food Service Management. Where he mastered Chinese, a skill suitable for computers and dealing with Earl.

Chief Financial Officer

Suzanne de Berge manages BRC financial affairs as well as corporate strategic planning as BRC continues to foster ethical research practices and helps pioneer new research frontiers in Latin America. As CFO she also manages a customer satisfaction program under which all clients receive questionnaires inviting them to assess team performance on each of their projects This has proven to be a very valuable tool in quality assurance and identifying new client needs.

Suzanne takes a leading role in the companyís active corporate citizen initiatives serving as the first woman member of the Arizona State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, and its first non-veterinarian chairperson.    Suzanne was recently elected President of the international Seeds for the Future NGO in Central America, served on the Phoenix Arts Commission and was its chairperson during the critical formative years and continues to provide counsel and expertise to various arts organizations via the Commission's Business Volunteer for the Arts.  She is a past president of Women At The Top, a leading Arizona women's business organization and represents Behavior Research Center on The Family Business Forum, a function of The Center for the Advancement of Small Business at Arizona State University. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Semillas Para El Futuro NGO in Antigua which is dedicated to creating new economic and community models for poverty plagued rural community in Central America. Ms. de Berge holds a BA from Antioch University.

Prior to joining BRC, Ms. de Berge was Assistant Curator of Art for the Heard Museum of Anthropology and Primitive Art.

Phone Room Manager

Eleanor has over 5 years experience in the research field. She began as a telephone interviewer and has held a variety of positions including Lead Recruit Trainer, Business Development Coordinator, and Quality Assurance Specialist. She has experience in sales and customer service and with her strong support team implements operational and staff objectives, maintains efficient qualitative operations while assisting our clients in making each project a success.

With a pool of skilled call center staff, Eleanor is ready to assist you with your market research projects. She and her team can assist with interviewing and focus group recruiting including quota management and re-screening to ensure security and qualification. Eleanor considers her clients partners and friends, not just clients
